He’s been climbing the ranks of the zeitgeist's most valuable players ever since with his productions, Plastik People label, and Djing as leverage. Marc Cotterell’s productions have seen support from many other inspiring figures, regularly being charted by names like Jeremy “Underground Paris”, DJ Spen, DJ Fudge, Kiko Navarro, Rick Wade, Doc Martin, Fred P, Lars Behrenroth & Playin’ 4 The City.
Those of his releases not reserved for his own imprint, have found homes with other respected labels: Defected, UK, Soiree Records (Detroit,US), 124 Recordings (Wales,UK), Kolour Recordings (Detroit,US), Minuendo Recordings (Spain), and Gents & Dandy’s Recordings (Belgium) among others. His work consistently makes its way into the top ten sales charts on Juno and Traxsource in both vinyl and digital formats. Traxsource’s owner himself, Brian Tappert, regularly relies on Plastik People releases in his Traxsource LIVE! show rotation, as well as featuring Marc on his Defected in the House Radio Guest Mix. Cotterell’s own boundlessly energized and soulfully charged DJ sets have been showcased by Chicago’s 5 Mag and Deeper Shades of House in their mix series.
His abilities behind the decks have seen him play & hold residences in Spain, Bulgaria, Canada, and all over both his home nations, the US and UK. Marc’s more notable gigs operate as a checklist of some of the most hallowed establishments and heralded festivals around like Sonar, Detroit Electronic Music Festival in Spain, Plastic People, The Egg, Fabric, and The End (London,UK). Through Plastik People Records, which he founded in 2012, Marc has gone to bat for other artists he believes in. Alongside Olivier Portal AKA Playin’ 4 The City who is exclusive to his label, he’s also signed the cherished talents of Kiko Navarro, Reelsoul, Jazz ‘N’ Groove & Louie Balo. Marc’s sound is a journey to the depths of U.S & U.K house & garage, stretching back to the early 90’s to present date. Marc’s knowledge of his sound is contained in the vast amount of vinyl he collects and the rare hidden gems he showcases at his Plastik People events and gigs across the globe.
